Meet Dr. Fahtema Sadat
Dr. Sadat is a Los Angeles native who earned her Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) degree from the prestigious NYU College of Dentistry. With over 12 years of experience serving patients in Los Angeles, she has built a reputation for combining clinical excellence with a gentle, compassionate chairside manner.
She has completed advanced training in dental implants, CAD/CAM dentistry, laser procedures, and facial injectables, and is a proud member of the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry (AACD). Her focus is always on understanding her patients' goals, providing honest guidance, and delivering results that make people feel confident in their smile.
A Note About Our History — Dr. Mary Jo Frazier, DDS
Santa Monica Dental Studio was founded and led for 45 years by Dr. Mary Jo Frazier, whose dedication to her patients and her craft set the standard for everything this practice stands for. Dr. Frazier brought to Los Angeles the same honest, relationship-centered approach she grew up watching her father practice in their small Kansas hometown and she made it her life's work.
In her own words:
"Dear patients,
I hope this message finds you well. Writing this letter comes with a mix of emotions, as I want to share some personal news with you. Over the past forty-five years, my practice has grown into something truly special-a place where dentistry goes beyond teeth and smiles, where genuine friendships and trust have flourished. Being part of your lives and your families has been one of the greatest joys of my life.
As many of you know, I come from a small town in Kansas where my father practiced dentistry until he was 85 years old. I brought that same honest approach to this remarkable city and quickly discovered that Los Angeles was my new home. However, life had brought an unexpected challenge: I was diagnosed with lung cancer in June. Though my outlook is positive, and I’m focused on my health, I’ve made the difficult decision to step away from practicing dentistry.
I want to assure you that the incredible relationships and bonds we’ve built will remain a source of great strength for me as I face this new chapter. I hope they remain the same for you as our practice transitions into new hands. I am thrilled to introduce you to Dr. Fahtema Sadat, who has officially taken over the practice.
Dr. Sadat brings with her a wealth of experience and a gentle, patient-centered approach that mirrors the philosophy we’ve cultivated together. She earned her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the prestigious New York University School of Dentistry and has been honing her skills for over 12 years in Los Angeles. Her focus is always on understanding her patients’ concerns, delivering care with the latest technology and ensuring comfort and confidence at every visit. Her reputation for patient care is excellent. I’m confident that Dr. Sadat is the right person to carry our shared vision of a boutique, relationship-focused practice.
Also, I want you to know that all our wonderful staff will be staying and continuing to provide the friendly, personalized care you know and love. My entire family and I will remain under Dr. Sadat’s care-this is how strongly I believe in her skill and dedication. I truly encourage you to do the same.
